St. John's Mercy Medical Center Visitor Guide

The Counseling Center is made up of a multidisciplinary group of mental health professionals. We provide services to children, adults, seniors, individuals, couples and families. We are located on the campus of St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur. There is free Valet Parking at the door and the building is fully handicapped accessible.

  About Dr. Blumberg: Dr. Blumberg has been in private practice since 1983. He has worked in both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings. He primarily uses a cognitive behavioral approach with his patients. His interests include sports, bicycling, travel and his family.

  About Dr. Bumberry: Dr. Bumberry has been in practice for more than 25 years helping clients with a wide range of personal and relationship issues. His focus is on helping clients become more self aware, resolve conflicts and develop more rewarding relationships. As a Senior Certified Gottman Therapist Dr. Bumberry has a specialization in treating couples. This model emphasizes creating intimacy, resolving conflict and building a compelling vision of the future. Dr. Bumberry presents professional workshops on couples therapy and is an instructor at St. Louis University.

  About Patricia Crenshaw, M. Ed., LPC: Patricia has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has provided individual, family, couples, and group therapy in the past. Most recently Patricia works full time in the student counseling service at a local high school. Patricia also works part time at The Counseling Center. In her free time Patricia enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

  About Dr. Garcia-Ferrer: Dr. Garcia is a Licensed Psychiatrist and a Distinguished Fellow with the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Garcia is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in General Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, and Addiction Psychiatry, and also certified in Addiction Medicine by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He is currently Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center.
  Dr. Garcia has been in practice for more than 22 years helping patients with a broad range of psychiatric conditions. He has extensive experience with patients with Chemical Dependency, Dual Diagnosis, and Geriatric illness. Dr. Garcia developed the Dual Diagnosis Program at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in 1993. He has served on Advisory Boards, teaches and supervises St. Louis University residents, and has been a National Speaker on a number of psychiatric topics.

  About Mary Jane Lane, M.ED: Mary Jane Lane has been in clinical practice since 1984. She seeks to help her client, whether an individual, couple or family, develop a personal deeper understanding, and build resources within themselves to be successful in their daily life. She specializes in mood disorders, addictions, sexual trauma, impact of medical illnesses, and advocating for children with learning challenges. Assessment for ADD for youth and adults is available.   About Dr. Scott: Dr. Scott is a St. Louis native (Parkway Central) and forensic psychologist. He has nearly 20 years experience conducting forensic evaluations of criminal defendants, custody litigants, and sexual offenders in various legal circumstances. He is recognized as an expert in state courts throughout Missouri and in the Federal Courts.
  Types of patients seen in this practice: Dr. Scott conduct custody and parenting evaluations of adults and families, criminal forensic examinations of adolescents and adults, and adult sexual offender risk assessments. His main hobbies include bowling in the winter and boating in the summer. He also enjoys working out at the gym and traveling all year round.
